Roche Diagnostics Operations

Brighton, MA

Working in conjunction with Elkus Manfredi and Carson Design, EAW assisted Roche, an international bio-pharmaceutical company, in consolidating its three separate office locations around Massachusetts into one new space at 80 Guest Street / Boston Landing, a 10-story facility that’s part of a 15-acre mixed-use campus in Brighton.

The goal and vision for the new space was to maintain a high-design aesthetic to echo the look of Roche’s European offices. Most of the products specified for the new space were custom furnishings sourced from European manufacturers which often warrant longer lead times. EAW was able to successfully work the furniture installation schedule within the relocation schedule to ensure there wouldn’t be a break in business from one location to the other. Additionally, making certain that business in Roche’s labs would not be disrupted was paramount to project success. Maintaining consistent communication with the entire project team was vital. Detail-oriented, the EAW team succeeded in bridging the gap between design needs and schedule requirements.

The new space is open, efficient and sophisticated. There are no private offices – all employees work in user-adjustable “benching” workstations.  EAW also provided furnishings for three conference rooms, a training room, collaboration/huddle rooms, focus rooms, a wellness room, lounge/reception area, café/lounge area, various furniture open office nooks, and lab seating.
