Environments at Work (EAW) was selected as the provider for a significant portion of the furniture for the UMASS Dartmouth Claire T. Carney Library (CTCL) project. The 5-story, $40 million building renovation and expansion project was installed in three phases over 16 months, beginning in December 2011 to completion in October 2012.

The library, now bright and spacious, contains a variety of different spaces to accommodate 21st-century learning.  EAW provided furnishings for the learning commons and collaborative study spaces, individual student work areas, administrative workstations, and private offices. The combination of EAW’s team approach and creative product application were key elements to a successful project.

This multiphase project presented many challenges but EAW remained flexible with delivery and installation scheduling meeting all critical deadlines established by the client.

Open twenty-four hours a day, the CTCL is a hub for University activity, serving more than 300,000 students, faculty and regional residents.
